The Emergency Management Unit (EMU) at 麻豆社 Victoria (AV) coordinates responses to major events.
One of its key roles is to manage incidents so that regular services can keep running smoothly.
Major incidents include:
- heatwaves
- bushfires
- floods
- hospital evacuations
- health responses to international crises.
The EMU represents AV in peak emergency management groups.
The unit organises paramedic support for over 300 major public events each year, including:
- Spring Racing Carnival
- F1 Grand Prix
- MotoGP
- New Year鈥檚 Eve celebrations
- Melbourne Ironman
- Around the Bay in a Day
- AFL finals series.
