- Suitable completion of a Paramedicine Board recognised qualification. (You can register your interest while in the final semester of study).
- A full Victorian driver’s licence or P2 probationary licence.
- Highly developed communication skills, including fluent verbal and written English.
- A good level of health and fitness.
- The ability to think clearly and act quickly.
- Clear decision making and judgement skills.
- Adaptability and resilience.
After your expression of interest has been considered, you may be invited to attend an AV Assessment Centre.
As a Graduate Â鶹Éç Paramedic, you will enjoy a structured, on-road supervision and learning program for your first year of employment, to help you find your feet in this amazing and challenging career. Once you’ve completed your first year and passed the clinical assessments, you’ll graduate to become a fully Qualified Â鶹Éç Paramedic with AV.

How to register your interest to become a Graduate Paramedic at Â鶹Éç Victoria
We invite students in the final semester of study to register their interest to become a Graduate Â鶹Éç Paramedic.
Please note, once you have registered your details, you will receive an email requesting that you submit scanned certified copies of documents before your request to apply will progress
- National Police Certificate (issued by the AFP, State Police Service or an accredited organisation with ACIC)
- Driving History Report (including statement of demerit points and convictions for each state / territory or country you have resided in for the last 5 years
- Front and back copy of your driver’s licence
- Proof of right to work in Australia (passport, Australian Citizenship and / or birth certificate, Permanent Residency visa). Please note that we are only able to offer employment to candidates with no restrictions on their right to work in Australia.
- Proof of Paramedic Registration with the Paramedicine Board of Australia. Visit the information page for details on how to register.
- Most recent Academic Transcript. (An academic transcript is an official record of your studies, issued by your university. We do not accept unofficial transcripts). If you have completed your studies, this record will include confirmation that you have met the requirements to graduate.
Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your documentation. You will be contacted to advise of the next step towards becoming a Graduate Paramedic in due course.
Please note that Assessment Centres and Graduate Â鶹Éç Paramedic intakes are dependent on operational demand and occur on an as-needs basis.

Â鶹Éç Victoria Assessment Centre
Â鶹Éç Victoria has introduced a modern, best practice Assessment Centre to deliver a better experience for candidates and enable a more effective recruitment process.
The structured assessment centre puts a stronger focus on the practical application of clinical knowledge and capabilities through scenario-based assessment.
All candidates will have the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities through a mix of formal and informal, group and one-on-one assessments.
At the Assessment Centre, candidates are allocated to groups which rotate through three activities – a question and answer session, group assessment and behavioural interview. Each activity has a duration of approximately 60 minutes.
In line with our commitment to improving the physical and mental health, wellbeing and safety of our people, candidates are required to undertake Alcohol and Other Drug testing as part of their Medical and Physical Assessment, as well as Psychological Screening.
Please note – The results of your medical assessment will be valid for 12 months from date of assessment. If you are in the recruitment process at the time of medical assessment validity expiry, you will be notified that your medical assessment is due to expire, and you will be required to undertake a new medical assessment. Please note, if you are required to reapply for a position due to circumstances such as withdrawal or a paused application, you will not need to undertake the medical assessment again provided that your previous medical assessment is still valid.
